"Fall in love. Get married. Have a baby. Not necessarily in that order." Unlucky-in-love Jennifer Lopez decides to go it alone with a baby -- but Cupid has other plans -- in her new romantic comedy 'The Back-up Plan.' The star talks to our Samantha Harris about movies, men and babies!
"To be honest, I'm figuring it out as I go along," she admits.
In theaters April 23, 'The Back-up Plan' finds Jennifer as Zoe, a pet store owner who decides to take matters into her hands after years of fruitless dating and looking for Mr. Right. Deciding to go it alone and have a baby by herself, Murphy's Law has it that she meets the perfect guy, Stan (former "Moonlight" star Alex O'Loughlin), right after she gets pregnant via artificial insemination. A comedy of errors ensues as Stan chooses to stand by Zoe despite their unconventional courtship, love, marriage and family plan in reverse.
"You have to give attention to it every day," she says. "Kids are the priority."
This is Jennifer's first film since having kids, and she says being a mom helped her at being an actress.
"Having just gone through the pregnancy, to get on the set, the whole movie is about being pregnant, the whole concept," she says. "It was very fresh in my mind."
